One of the key factors of wealth and wellbeing levels of the population is the existence of permanent source of income.

For the past 9 month of current year, total amount of gross income reached 129,5 trillion soums, in turn, it is 19.8 per cent higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year.

8.3 per cent change in consumer prices in the current period influenced on the purchasing power of the aggregate income of the population. Therefore, in real terms, in comparison with the same period of the previous year growth rate of aggregate income of population was 110,6 per cent.

In 9 month of 2017 average per capita aggregate income amounted to 4 million soums.

In comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, nominal  growth rate of per capita aggregate income of the population in was 117,8 per cent.

In comparison with the corresponding period of 2016, real growth of per capita aggregate income of the population was 108,8 per cent.

Significantly higher indicator of per capita aggregate income growth was in Khorezm region. In Andijan, Surkhandarya, Namangan regions and the Republic of Karakaplakstan amount of average aggregate income is higher than the average per capita aggregate income level in the Republic.

 

Structure of aggregate income of population

Occurred changes in incomes from work (income from wages and self-employment) enabled the significant growth in total volume of aggregate income population by making up 70,2 per cent of total income and 23,4 per cent of income from transfers.

 

Employment income

Employment income has a significant share in the structure of aggregate income of population. Share of these incomes makes up more than 70 per cent in the structure of aggregate income of population. In comparison with the corresponding period of previous year, in 9 month of current year growth rate of employment income was 114 per cent.

In turn, employment income composed of incomes from wages and self-employment.

In January-September period of 2017, incomes from wages grew by 13,9 per cent and made up 33,6 per cent of employment income.

The largest growth rate of employee income was 116,4 per cent in Tashkent, 116,1 per cent in Andijan, Jizzakh, Khorezm regions and 114,6 percent in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Furthermore, another main source of income from work is the income from self-employment of the population. Mainly individual entrepreneurship of the population in different sectors of economy belongs to this sphere.

In 9 month of 2017, population received 47,5 trillion soums from self-employment. This source of income had a significant share in total volume of aggregate income of population and made up 36,6 per cent.

In terms of share, income from self employment had a very significant effect on aggregate income of population. If the amount of income from self employment increase by 1 per cent, total amount of aggregate income grows by 0,38 per cent.

In comparison with the corresponding period of previous year, growth rate of income from self-employment in 9 month of the current year was 114,1 per cent.

Share of income from self-employment differs and varies from 23 (in Tashkent city) to 48 (in Tashkent region) per cent. A third (34,4 per cent) of gained income from self-employment belongs to the share of Tashkent city (10,6 per cent), Tashkent (13,7 per cent) and Samarkand (10,0 per cent) regions.

Growth rate of income from self-employment by regions varies from 107,2 per cent (Tashkent city) to 120,5 per cent (Surkhandarya region).

Besides, one of the sources of income is an income from properties. In 9 months of 2017, population gained 5,2 trillion soums from properties. In comparison to the corresponding period of 2016, growth rate of incomes from properties was 121,2 per cent. Share of income from properties in total volume of aggregate income is 4 per cent.

Income from property, in turn, consists of interest rates, dividends, copyright honoraria and other property incomes.

Structure of property income, in %

In the structure of incomes from property, other incomes from property makes up the largest share - 53,2 % . Next type of property income by significance is dividends - 31,6 %., interest incomes from bonds, deposit certificates and other securities - 15,1 %, copyright honoraria - 0,1 per cent.

Influence of property incomes on total volume of aggregate income of population is insignificant. Therefore, if the increase of aggregate income of population is 19,8 per cent in the selected period of time, share of property income becomes 0,8 per cent.

In regions of Uzbekistan, practice of gaining income from property is not sufficiently developed. Two thirds of total volume of property income in 9 months of 2017 was earned in Tashkent 64,3 per cent. Regions with significant shares are Tashkent region (8,1 %) and Samarkand region (4,3 %), Fergana region (4,2 %).

 

In the structure of population income, transfers have a significant share. Growth rate of transfer income in 9 months of 2017 compared with the corresponding period of 2016 was 141,4 %. In line with that, in that period share of transfers in the total volume of aggregate income of population grew by 3.6 percentage points and was 23,4 %. Increase of social transfers was 115,8 in that period.

Mainly pensions impact on the growth of social transfers and pensions make up 84 per cent in its total volume.

Growth rate of pensions was 116,5 per cent comparing with the corresponding period of 2016.

Changes in the maturity period of pensions, welfare payments and stipends facilitated the growth in aggregate income of population in 1,9 per cent.
