On December 9-11, 2019, the meeting for improving the national statistics on people without citizenship  was held in Bangkok (Thailand).

The staff of statistical offices of Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, Vietnam and Rwanda took part in the meeting. From the State committee on statistics the head of Division of Comprehensive Statistical Observations of Services, Transport and Information Infrastructure of  Department of Services Statistics - Rakhimov Alisher participated.

The issues of importance and relevance of registration of people without citizenship in countries and improvement of statistical methodology (based on international recommendations on refugee statistics) were discussed at the meeting as well.

It is well known that the United Nations Organization is taking steps to improve the statistics on people without citizenship. This initiative includes the development of recommendations for improving statistics at the national level. For achieving this goal, the UNO organized a meeting of technical experts from countries in which there are people without citizenship.
