On December 10-11, 2019, a seminar on the topic “Methodology of social surveys” was held in the city of Minsk of the Republic of Belarus. The workshop was organized by Eurostat.
It was attended by representatives of Eurostat, the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia, as well as employees of statistical organizations of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and the chief specialist of the Department of Living Standards Statistics and Population Surveys of the Department for Formation and Analysis indicators of living standards of the population of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Muslima Mukhamedova.
The seminar discussed the legal framework of the methodology of social surveys of the European Union, international standards for the collection and dissemination of statistics of living conditions, used in practice by European and other countries.
At the same time, the procedure for conducting a survey on the EU special questionnaire (EU-SILC) on incomes and living conditions of the population, as well as its practical application, was discussed. Along with this, the experience of other countries in this area was announced during the seminar.
