On December 4-6, 2019, in Geneva, Switzerland, a meeting of experts on Measuring poverty and inequality and a workshop on Harmonization of poverty Statistics in the framework of the SDGs were organized.
The event was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
The event was attended by Dilorom Kholbekova, chief specialist of the Department for Coordination of Sample Household Surveys of the Department of Living Standards Statistics and Population Surveys of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Also, experts from the statistical agencies of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Poland, Russia, the United States, Ukraine, Tajikistan and other countries took part.
The main objective of this event is to exchange experiences on measuring poverty and inequality and on harmonizing poverty statistics within the framework of the SDGs. Also, international organizations provided suggestions and recommendations as part of this event.
