 In the period from November 4 to 7, 2019, Twinning was held in Tbilisi (Georgia) to exchange experience and methods for the preparation of the Voluntary National Review, which Uzbekistan will present in 2020 at the High-level Political Forum.

The event was organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Georgia at the initiative of Mr. Riccardo Mesiano.

The delegation from Uzbekistan was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, civil society, NGOs, the media, Parliament, as well as a representative of the UN Official Office in Uzbekistan. From the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, the event was attended by O. Aleshunina, Deputy Head of the Department for the Formation of Consolidated Analytical Information on Statistics of Sustainable Development and Social Sectors.

On November 4, 2019, a meeting of representatives of ministries and departments, civil society, NGOs, the media, as well as representatives of the Parliament of the two countries was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, materials were presented for the preparation of the Voluntary National Review (DNO) in Georgia. Along with this, monitoring of the SDG indicators of Georgia and a data reporting mechanism for the preparation of DNA were presented.

On November 5, 2019, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia with representatives of ministries and departments, civil society, NGOs, the media, as well as representatives of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia with representatives of ministries and departments, civil society, NGOs, the media, as well as representatives of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.

On November 6, 2019, a working meeting with representatives of the delegation from Uzbekistan was held at the National Statistical Service of Georgia. Deputy Executive Director opened the working meeting Leah Dzebizauri. The meeting discussed the formation of the SDG indicators and the role of GEOSTAT in the preparation of DNA.

Twinning will provide best practices and lessons learned that will be applied in preparing the Voluntary National Survey. Twinning enabled Member States to mobilize multilateral support by building partnerships to accelerate progress on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
