From October 21 to November 1, 2019 a training course was held at the Joint Vienna Institute (OVI) on the topic of “Financial Programming and Politics” in Vienna (Austria).

It was attended by 31 state employees from ministries and departments of the countries of South-East Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Croatia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan).

Umarjon Obidov, head of the Current Accounts Division of the Department of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts, participated in the course from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

The main goal of this course was to provide learners with more complete information about the development and implementation of macroeconomic and financial policies based on the IMF’s experience in economic supervision, compiling financial programs and providing technical assistance to IMF member countries.

The course program included lectures, workshops, debates and exchange of experience.
