On October 23-25 of this year, a delegation of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, headed by Chairman Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich, takes part in the 8th session of the statistical commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is being held in Ankara (Turkey).

The organizer of this meeting, the Organization of Islamic cooperation is the second largest intergovernmental organization after the United Nations, uniting 57 States. This organization protects the interests of the Islamic world in the economic, social and political spheres.

The 8th session of the statistical Commission of the Organization of Islamic cooperation is attended by the chief executives and employees of 57 state statistics bodies, international statistical organizations and experts.

The 8th session of the Commission will consider the work carried out since the 7th session of the statistical Commission of the Organization of Islamic cooperation in 2018. During the 8th session, participants will be provided with information on the latest international standards. They will share the best practices of developed countries in the field of electronic data collection technologies in the process of population and housing registration. A number of topical issues will also be discussed, such as the development and implementation of a National statistical system for registering agriculture and keeping records of international labour migration.

The importance of this meeting for the State Committee on statistics, held in Ankara, is to study the best practices of developed countries, international organizations and the use of modern information and communication technologies in the organization of the population census in our country in 2022 at a very high level.
