A presentation was made following the results of the workshop “Assessing the applicability of the global definition of cities / urban areas and rural areas in support of global monitoring of the SDGs and the goals of the“New Agenda for Urban Development ”organized by UN-Habitat in New Delhi, India., September 23-26, 2019.

The chief specialist of the Department for the Formation of Consolidated Analytical Information on Population Statistics, Demography and Labor, Jamshid Eshniyazov, shared his experience gained during the seminar.

In particular, a number of issues were noted about the use of GIS technologies in assessing infrastructure in cities and towns, the role of infrastructure in determining the level of urbanization, and a number of other areas.

During the seminar, an active discussion on the above topics was held, recommendations were given on putting into practice the acquired knowledge and skills based on international experience.
