The Expert Group Meeting and Workshop on Population and Housing Censuses was held on 16-20 September 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland. The events were organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and Eurostat.

Anvarjon Tulyaganov, deputy head of the Department for Organization and Methodology of Statistical Works, and Zoyir Yuldoshev, head of the Department for Formation of Consolidated Analytical Information on Population Statistics, Demography and Labor, took part in the meetings.

The Workshop on Population and Housing Censuses was held with the participation of representatives from the statistical agencies of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia and experts from international organizations. The presentation of the delegation of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics “Population Census in Uzbekistan” was made at the workshop. The Expert Group Meeting was attended by representatives of statistical agencies from 46 countries, as well as experts from the United Nations Statistics Division, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, UNFPA, FAO, Eurostat, the CISSTAT, the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, representatives from the University of Minnesota and Southampton, and invited experts.

The seminar and meeting discussed and studied the experience of several countries in innovative census technologies, the use of administrative and other data sources, census assessment and measuring data quality, meeting user needs, integrating censuses and social surveys, and needs related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
