The fifth meeting on the theme “Civil registration and vital statistics” was organized in the period 17-19 September 2019 in Bangkok city (Thailand). The above-mentioned event was organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Umid Tashmukhamedov, deputy head of Division for Formation of Indicators of Balance of Labour, Employment and Remuneration of Labour of Department of Demography and Labour Statistics of the State committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on statistics took part in the meeting on the part of the State committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on statistics.

The representatives of Australia, Armenia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, Vanuati, Kiribati, New Zealand, Pakistan, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Georgia and Kazakhstan, as well as experts of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Office of the United Nations for Refugees, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank and other international organizations took part in the event.

Matters on the current state of works on fulfilling the recommendations of the Regional steering group on the registration of acts of civil status and  maintaining the statistics of   natural population movement (birth, death, marriages, divorces), the completeness of registration of acts and the improvement of the reporting process, as well as matters on the coordination of processes related to registration of acts of civil status and the statistics of   natural population movement through the organization of national mechanisms were  reviewed during the meeting.
