The training programme was held in Chiba, Japan, during the period between 2 and 6 September 2019. It was organized by the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) in collaboration with Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
This course was held at the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), which was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Bhutan, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Mongolia, Micronesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Dilmurod Khodjaev, a head of Division of Ecology and Waste Utilization Statistics from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics took part in the training program.
Participants reviewed basic concepts and frameworks, with hands-on sessions, of the Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics (FDES) and the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA), with the overall aim to strengthen capacity to produce a set of statistics and indicators to inform environment-related policy decisions at the national and international levels.
