On February 27, 2019, at 10:00, a round table was held at the University of Information Technologies named after Mukhammad al-Khorazmi on the theme “System of National Statistics: Theory and Practice”.


The event was attended by employees of the State Committee on Statistics, Center for retraining and statistical research, teachers and students of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Mukhammad al-Khorazmi and media representatives.

As was noted at the Round Table, the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev dated July 31, 2017 “On measures to improve the activities of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics” serves as the basis for improving the activity of the statistics sphere and raising it to a new level, for further improving the collection storage and processing of statistical information, as well as its wide dissemination in the media, on local TV channels and through the Internet.

Also, in today's “Information Age”, special attention is paid to ensuring maximum transparency and openness of statistical information, reflecting the results of the development of our country in international statistical collections and various ratings. Based on this, relations are being strengthened and cooperation is being established with leading international statistical, economic and financial organizations.

As was noted at the event, in order to ensure the execution of the decision, action plans were developed for each item of the comprehensive program of measures, control plan and other tasks, the State Committee on Statistics developed action plans, revised the composition and structure of the central and regional departments of the State Committee on Statistics in the central office of the State Committee on Statistics, in order to ensure maximum transparency of statistical information, the list of published indicators was revised and expanded, the official web site is regularly enriched with analytical information, newsletters, reports and press releases.

Also, the responsible staff of the State Committee on Statistics provided detailed answers to other questions of interest to the participants of the event.
