On January 30, 2019, at 13:00, a “Round table” on the theme “System of national statistics: theory and practice” was held at the Inha University in Tashkent.
In The event participated employees of the State Committee on Statistics, the Center for Retraining and Statistical Research of the State Committee on Statistics, teachers and students of Inha University in Tashkent and representatives of the media.
During the round table, it was noted that the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated July 31, 2017 "On measures to improve the activities of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics" serves as a basis for raising the activity of the sphere to a new level, and to further improve the collection, storage and statistical information processing, as well as its wide dissemination in the media, on local TV channels and through the Internet.
During the round table, it was emphasized that in order to ensure an objective and correct assessment of the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in international ratings, the State Committee on Statistics filles out 23 questionnaires of international organizations. Today, the committee conducts effective cooperation in the field of statistics with leading international organizations such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, etc.
