The Regional Training Workshop on the Production of the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting-Energy (SEEA-Energy) Accounts and the Use of Energy Information for Policy organized by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the International Energy Agency (IEA), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) was held on 17-20 December 2019 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Sherzod Azizov, a head of the Division of Coordination of Activities of State Bodies and Organizations for Formation, Maintenance and Updating of Information Resources on Open Data Portal, and Adkham Abdullaev, a head of the Sector of Energy Statistics, Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency Calculations, took part in the above-mentioned workshop.
The event was attended by representatives of national ministries and departments on economics, energy, specialists of national statistical services of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, as well as experts from UNSD, IEA, UNESCAP.
The event was aimed at studying and identifying problems in the formation of statistical information in the field of energy, the implementation and use of the energy balance and environmental and economic accounting, strengthening cooperation between ministries and departments on energy at the national level, as well as applying the knowledge gained in filling out international questionnaires.
