In the period September 24-28, 2018 A seminar was organized in Geneva (Switzerland) and an expert group meeting on population and housing censuses was held. The events were organized by the UN Economic Commission for Europe and Eurostat.
The Deputy Head of the Organization and Methodology Department of Statistical Works A. Tulyaganov and the First Deputy Head of the Statistics Department of the Andijan Region N. Tuhtaboev took part from the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A seminar on population and housing censuses was held with the participation of representatives of the statistical agencies of Eastern European countries, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and experts from international organizations.
Representatives of statistical agencies from 47 countries, as well as experts from the UN Economic Commission for Europe, UNFPA, FAO, Eurostat, the CIS Statistical Committee, the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, the delegation of the European Union on Bosnia and Herzegovina, experts from the Minnesota Center for Population and invited experts.
The seminar and meeting discussed the issues and studied the experience of a number of countries on innovations and census methodologies, using new data sources, evaluating censuses and measuring data quality, meeting user needs, integrating censuses and social surveys, needs related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
