The Demand Restraint, Fuel Switching, and Phasing out Energy Subsidies Policy Forum was organized in Issyk-Kul (Kyrgyzstan) on 26-28 June, 2018. This event was organized by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The participants of the Forum are representatives from Eurostat, the International Energy Forum, the International Energy Agency, the United Nations Statistics Division, as well as the staff of statistical organizations of 9 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine) and Adkham Abdullaev, the leading specialist of the Sector of Energy Statistics, Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency Calculations, and Mr. Bakhram Yakhshibaev, the first deputy head of the Djizzak Region Statistics Department.
The seminar discussed improving the presentation of the "Joint initiative of these organizations" and the overall quality and transparency of energy data in the partner countries under the EU4Energy Program, as well as raising knowledge of the data requirements for energy security policies (oil, gas, electricity).
