On June 19 this year, a joint video conference was organized between the State Committee on Statistics and the Tashkent State University of Economics.

Specialists of the State Statistics Committee held a webinar for professors, researchers and students, led by the rector of the Tashkent State Economic University, connected online from different regions of the country.

At the videoconference, the head of the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Statistics Gulomov Shovkat Abdurakhmonovich spoke in detail about the statistical indicators of agricultural activity in the republic.

According to the speaker, the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in January – March 2020 amounted to 25.2 trillion. soums, or 103.9% of the corresponding period in 2019, including in crop and livestock farming, hunting and the provision of services in these areas - 23.7 trillion. soums (103.9%), forestry - 1.3 trillion. soums (101.8%), fisheries - 0.2 trillion. Amounts (117.8%). In the structure of GDP, the share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the period under review amounted to 14.8%. The contribution of this industry to GDP growth as a whole reached 0.5 percentage points.

According to the results of January-March 2020, 93.7% of the total volume of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries accounted for crop production and animal husbandry, hunting and services provided in these areas, 5.3% - forestry, 1.0% - fisheries.

In January – March 2020, by regions, significant volumes of products (services) of agriculture, forestry and fisheries were recorded in Samarkand (3406 billion soums) and Tashkent (3325 billion soums) regions, while in the Syrdarya region (811 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (829bn. Soums) and Navoi region (1378bn. Soums) low volumes were traced.

After that, professors and students of Tashkent State Economic University were asked questions on the topic. The experts of the committee answered questions in detail.

Given the current pandemic and the country's orientation towards the development of the digital economy, the webinar is of great importance. In this regard, online meetings are regularly held, which are of practical importance for the faculty, scientific researchers and students.
