On May 22 this year, a joint videoconference was organized between the State Committee on Statistics and the Tashkent State University of Economics.

Specialists of the State Committee on Statistics held webinars for professors, researchers and students, led by the rector of the Tashkent State Economic University, connected online from different regions of the country.

The director of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Statistical Studies B. Goyibnazarov, the heads of the committee departments O. Mamadaliev and B. Irgashev took part in the webinar.

In the beginning, Irgashev Batir Samarovich, head of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity and Trade Statistics, spoke in detail about trends in the formation and development of foreign trade indicators.

According to the speaker, according to the results of January-April 2020, the foreign trade turnover of the republic reached 10 823.2 million US dollars, which, compared with the same period last year, decreased by 1 297.1 million US dollars.

Of the total FTT, exports reached 4 416.9 million US dollars (a decrease of 10.6% compared to January-April 2019 was recorded), while imports reached 6 406.3 million US dollars (a decrease of 10.8%) A passive balance of foreign trade turnover in the amount of 1 989.4 million US dollars was recorded.

Uzbekistan has trade relations with more than 150 countries of the world. The largest volume of its foreign trade turnover among them was recorded with the Russian Federation (16.7%), China (16.6%), Kazakhstan (8.3%), the Republic of Korea (7.4%), Turkey (5.6%), Kyrgyzstan (2.0%) and Germany (2.0%).

After that, professors and students of Tashkent State Economic University asked questions on the topic. The questions were answered by the director of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Statistical Studies B. Goybnazarov, the heads of the committee departments O. Mamadaliev and S.Irgashev.

Given the current pandemic and the country's orientation towards the development of the digital economy, the webinar is of great importance. Therefore, regular online meetings were organized that were of such practical importance to professors, researchers, and students.
