In order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On approval of the Strategy “Digital Uzbekistan-2030” and measures for its effective implementation” and the resolution “On additional measures to ensure openness and transparency of public administration, as well as to increase the statistical potential of the country”, The State Committee on Statistics has created an integrated information system “Statistics” (SIAT) and based on it launched the Statistics Portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan siat.stat.uz.

In particular, the SIAT information system was developed with the aim of establishing an electronic information exchange of the necessary statistical data by integrating with the relevant ministries and departments, as well as for the implementation of the following tasks:
- introduction of modern database management systems;
- combining sources of digital statistics into a single data warehouse;
- Establishment of information exchange based on the integration platform (REST-API);
- introduction of a module for visual presentation of data (table, graph, diagram, cartogram);
- introduction of a single web interface for users of statistical data.
The portal forms a unified database of official statistics, provides an opportunity to obtain data for a certain period in electronic formats.

As a result, with the help of the SIAT information system, the time for publishing official statistics and searching for it by users was reduced by 5-10 times, and the integration time based on individual requests from 10 to 1 day, in turn, this system was positively assessed by international organizations, including including experts from the Open Data Watch organization.
The portal, based on the SIAT information system, forms a unified database of official statistical data and creates conditions for electronic access for a certain period of time.

When developing the portal, the experience of Japan, India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other developed countries was studied.
At present, the SIAT Portal and information system contains a total of more than 1,700 sets of official statistical indicators in 19 areas, time series for the last 10 years, as well as macro indicators for the last 30 years, for convenient and free download by users in 3 formats (Excel , PDF and JPG).

In addition, machine-readable formats (CSV, JSON, and XML) are also available for independent integration.
The portal is available in Uzbek, Russian and English.
All information is regularly updated with appropriate frequency.

The portal has implemented modules for comparing data in the form of interactive graphs, histograms and charts, as well as for forming a rating and determining the relationship between indicators. Placing metadata for each statistical indicator in a system based on the SDMX standard allows users to receive information about the date when the indicator was first published, updated, its primary source, body and method of calculation, responsible department and employee, as well as other necessary information.
