On February 7 of this year, a workshop within the framework of Phase II of the regional project “Improvement of industrial statistics and development of industrial production efficiency indicators for policy-related analysis in selected countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia”, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization UNIDO, began in Vienna (Austria).

It is attended by delegations led by the heads of statistical departments of eleven countries, including: Armenia, Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

The international conference, which will be held on February 7-9, 2024 from the Republic of Uzbekistan, will be attended by representatives of the delegation headed by the Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Begalov Bahadir Abdusalomovich.

For reference: In 2019, UNIDO, with the support of national and regional statistical organizations, launched a project on sectoral statistics for the CIS countries. The aim of the project is to find solutions to the growing need for statistics related to the so-called "industry 4.0" with a special focus on productivity, the digital economy and the empowerment of women.

Information on the issues under discussion on the participation of representatives of the delegation in the session and meetings with representatives of international organizations and statistical agencies of other countries will be additionally provided.
