On October 13 of this year, a meeting of the leadership of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics with the leadership of the Statistical Department of the International Monetary Fund took place, in a remote format by videoconferencing.
In accordance with the agenda, the issues of the transition of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the "enhanced General Data Dissemination System" to the "Special Data Dissemination Standard" of the International Monetary Fund were discussed. Also the leadership of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan was attended in the meeting.
In particular, the measures taken and the achieved results of mutual cooperation in this direction were noted. Also, the experts of the International Monetary Fund made proposals for organizing technical assistance missions to bring macroeconomic and financial statistics in line with the requirements of the system, which is necessary for the transition to the "Special Data Dissemination Standard".
Following the meeting, the leadership of the International Monetary Fund supported the initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan the transition to the "Special Data Dissemination Standard" and expressed its readiness to provide close technical and advisory assistance.

In 2019, the Government approved the "Roadmap" for the transition of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the "Special Data Dissemination Standard". This task is also reflected in the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 3, 2020 "On measures to further improve and develop the national system of statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan.".
