At the meeting on measures to improve national statistics, chaired by the Head of State on June 1, 2020, the issue of human resources was raised, and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists in the statistical system.
On the basis of a specific plan established by the State Committee on Statistics, a program of systematic training of employees of the central office of the committee and regional statistical offices was developed and approved.
Based on this schedule, online seminars were organized in 2020 to improve the skills of the system's employees and further improve their knowledge and capabilities in this area.
The next videoconference, organized on April 28, 2021 by the Office of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts, was a logical continuation of the capacity building of the system.
The video conference was attended by employees of the State Committee on Statistics and representatives of territorial statistical offices.
Deputy Head of the Department of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts Mamadzhanov Abrorali Ashiralievich presented proposals for the work that should be carried out in order to ensure the implementation of the relevant regulatory acts.
At the event, an exchange of views was held on the implementation of the national strategy for the development of statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025, as well as issues of providing users with high-level statistical data.
A webinar was also held in the form of questions and answers related to the scope of the SNA. Answering the questions, the staff of the regional statistical offices separately focused on the calculation of the gross domestic (regional) product, growth rates and the deflator.
At the end of the webinar, the achievements and shortcomings in this area are discussed, as well as suggestions and recommendations for improving productivity in the process.
