On May 4-5, 2021, the 23rd session of the Working Group on Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, organized by the Economic Commission for Europe in Geneva, Switzerland, was held by videoconference.
The head of the Department of Agriculture and Ecology Statistics Gulomov Shovkat took part in the webinar from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.
The event was attended by representatives of the statistical departments of the countries of the Caucasus, Central Asia, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, as well as authoritative international organizations for environmental protection.
The session heard the report of the Common Environmental Information System to support the regular process of environmental assessment, examined the relationship between environmental, economic and social considerations related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Issues on work on environmental information, including those related to green and circular economies, for the development of a pan-European environmental assessment and other activities related to the Working Group were also discussed.
