From 2 to 10 June 2021, a meeting of the expert group on the consumer price index (CPI), organized by the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the International Labor Organization (ILO), will take place.
The event, held in the form of a video conference, is attended by the head of the price statistics department Mukhtor Umarov, the head of the department for the formation of summary analytical data on price statistics Javokhirbek Jamaldinov and the head of the consumer price statistics department Shavkat Xaynazarov.
At the event held on June 2, experts exchanged views on new sources of data on consumer prices, CPI development in a pandemic, price scans and other issues.
During the meeting, the participants reviewed the draft guidelines for compiling the consumer price index for the period of the pandemic, the experience of countries in this direction, as well as for preparing the CPI in isolation.
It should be noted that the adoption of this Guide will assist countries in developing contingency plans and building resilient production systems.
Participation in the seminar will improve the CPI statistics and will serve to achieve the tasks defined by the roadmap for the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2020-2025.
