Director of Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

He was born in 1968 in the city of Bekabad of Tashkent region. He has higher education in economics. He is doctor of economic sciences, professor. Full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the Academy of Education Informatization, the International Academy of Informatization and the New York Academy of Sciences. Member of the International Statistical Institute.

1986-1988 years, he served in armed forces.

In 1992, he graduated from the Moscow Economic and Statistical Institute (MESI).

He worked as an engineer of the 3rd category of the Computing Center of the Tashkent State Economic University (TSEU).

In 1992-1996 studied at the graduate school(Ph.D.) of the Moscow Financial and Economic Institute. After graduating, he defended Ph.D. thesis on the theme “Research and development of models and algorithms of computer technology in advertisement activities (information products and services).”

From 1996 to 1999, he worked as a senior lecturer and associate professor of the department of “Economic Informatics and Automated Control Systems”, TSUE.

In 1999-2001, he worked as the deputy dean for academic affairs in the faculty of “Computer science, management and pedagogy of economic education” TSUE.

In 2001-2002, he worked as head of “Economic Informatics and automated control systems” department of TSUE. In 2001, he successfully defended his doctoral thesis on “Econometric modeling of tendencies of formation and development of information and communication market”.

In 2002-2008, Dr. B.Begalov worked as the acting dean of “Computer science, management and economic education pedagogy” faculty of TSUE.

In 2008-2011, Dean of the Faculty of “Information Technology and Management”, TSUE.

In 2011-2012, professor B.Begalov worked as the deputy rector of TSUE on scientific work.

In 2012-2016, By the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he worked as Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Concurrently, professor of the Department of “Information systems in economics”, TSUE.

From March 2013, by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No.65 from 06.03.13, Dr. B.Begalov is the Member of the Presidium of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers on Economic Sciences.

Since April 7, 2016, Dr. B.Begalov is the rector of the Tashkent Financial Institute.

In 2016-2017 worked as a rector of the Tashkent Financial Institute.

In 23 of May 2017 according to the Act of the Prezident of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.5051 appointed to the position Chairman of The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

He is engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities. He is a professor at the Department of Information Technologies in Economy of the Tashkent State University of Economics and a member of editorial boards of journals “Herald of Uzbekistan’s Economy”, “Economics and Education”, “Service” and “The Economy of Uzbekistan”.

He is the author of more than 300 scientific articles and scientific-methodical works, including 4 textbooks, 12 teaching aids, 9 monographs and 32 study guides.

He is married and has a son and three daughters.

POPULATION CENSUS OF THE 2023

Testing activities on registration of population in the Republic of Uzbekistan were held on November 1-25, 2021 in 4 regions of the Republic: Khujaabad District of Andijan region, Yukhichirchik District of Tashkent region, Khiva city of Khorezm region and Yashnabad District of Tashkent City.
