On October 13, 2021, a round table was held at the Tashkent State University of Transport dedicated to the essence, meaning of the new law "On official statistics", changes and concepts being introduced into practice, in addition, measures taken to prepare for the population census in 2023, as well as statistics transport sector.

The event was attended by employees of the central office of the State Statistics Committee, faculty, researchers and students of the Tashkent State Transport University.
During the round table, the participants were provided with detailed information about the essence and meaning of the new law "On official statistics", changes and concepts introduced by the law into practice.

In particular, the new law provides the necessary, reliable legal basis for full compliance with the fundamental principles of official statistics in the country, recommended by the international statistical community.
In short, we can say that the new Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Official Statistics" not only regulates the functioning of the national statistical system, but also ensures the effectiveness of reforms to ensure openness and transparency of official statistics, to meet the needs of users in reliable, high-quality and up-to-date official statistics. will serve to further enhance the country's prestige at the international level.

At the event, students were explained in detail the meaning of the population census, the role of the state in the formation of socio-economic programs, the essence and content of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 710 of November 11, 2020 "On measures for the preparation and conduct of the population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023".

As noted at the meeting, the population census is a large-scale event of a nationwide scale, which allows you to get a "photograph" of the country's population at a certain point in time and is a reliable source of information about the population.

The specialists spoke in detail about the work done to date to prepare for the population census, as well as about the tasks that need to be implemented in the future.

Also, students received answers to their questions from experts in the statistics of the transport industry in the form of a direct open dialogue.

As a result of the round table, an agreement was reached with the university leadership to hold such events on a regular basis, as well as to organize practical classes for students.
