Within the framework of the Seventeenth Session of the Governing Council of the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP), from November 30 to December 1, 2021, a Management Seminar was held for heads of National Statistical Offices in the Asia-Pacific region on the theme “Transforming Institutions is Transforming People”.

On the agenda of the two-day seminar, the heads of the National Statistical Offices of the Asia-Pacific region discussed the issues of innovation in human resource management, human resource management issues in support of data integration.

On the second day of the event, the reports of the Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics - Bakhodir Abdusalomovich Begalov were heard.

In his speech, the Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics highlighted in detail the regulatory framework in the field of ensuring gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan, State programs to improve gender statistics and SDG indicators.

He also dwelled on the “Roadmap” approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics in 2020-2025, which includes issues of observance and implementation of gender equality in state statistics bodies, improving personnel policy issues and increasing the potential of statistics.

The workshop was attended by over 70 representatives from National Statistical Offices of the Asia-Pacific region.
