At the beginning of the 2021-2022 academic year, out of 567 operating general education institutions in the region, 375 (66.1% of the total) functioned in rural areas, and the number of students studying in them in total amounted to 215,876 (60.0% of the total).
These educational institutions employed 20,500 teachers.
