In pursuance of the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the expansion and improvement of the statistical information base in the field of agriculture" No. 104 dated February 26, 2021, with the assistance of the Food and Agriculture Organization UN FAO in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a mission was organized from July 13 to 15 at the State Statistics Committee Georgi Kvinikadze, a statistician, to assist in conducting a pilot census in the field of agriculture, scheduled for August 2022.

On the first day of the mission, a meeting was held with the Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Committee, Agzam Ikramov. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization UN FAO in the Republic of Uzbekistan - Furkat Ibragimov, a representative of the Statistics Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Jahongir Artikov. Head of the Department of Statistics of Agriculture and Ecology - Shovkat Gulomov, Head of the Department of Organization and Conduct of Census Processes - Kobil Berdikulov, Head of the Department for the Development of Information and Communication Technologies and Interactive Public Services - Shokhrukh Odilov and the State Statistics Committee working team for conducting a pilot census in the field of agriculture.

During the meeting, the expert was introduced to the legal framework for the 2024 agricultural census, the forms of questionnaires for the pilot agricultural census, the information and explanatory work carried out by the State Statistics Committee, and a detailed discussion of the process of conducting the pilot census took place.

On the same day, the expert visited the Parkent district of the Tashkent region, where, together with the working team for conducting a pilot census in the field of agriculture, he examined the census tracts, studied the cartographic materials and schemes of the census tracts of the Parkent district of the Tashkent region.

On the second day of the visit, the expert got acquainted with the questionnaire forms of the pilot agricultural census, reviewed the software for electronic information collection devices (tablets) and the information and explanatory work carried out by the State Statistics Committee in preparation for the pilot agricultural census in August 2022.

Following the mission, the expert highly appreciated the preparatory work for the pilot agricultural census in August 2022, and also provided detailed recommendations for the 2024 agricultural census.
