As you know, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 21, 2022 No. 83 “On additional measures to accelerate the implementation of national goals and objectives in the field of sustainable development for the period up to 2030” was adopted.


In order to assist in determining the directions for collecting and systematizing indicators of national sustainable development goals for children, on July 26-27 of this year, the representative office of the International UNICEF Fund in Uzbekistan organized an event at the State Committee on Statistics with the participation of international experts.

Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Zohidjon Ziyaev made an opening speech at the event. The meeting was also attended by international experts José Lui Cervera-Ferri and Anna Astafieva, head of the Department of Social Sphere and Sustainable Development Statistics of the State Committee on Statistics Dilshodbek Kirgizov and employees of the central office.


In order to ensure the timely implementation of the SDGs, ensure communication between citizens and state bodies, economic management bodies and other organizations, establish interaction between the parliament, government and civil society institutions in achieving the SDGs, implement a policy focused on ensuring the interests of each person, a Joint Resolution of the two chambers was adopted Oliy Majlis on the formation of the Parliamentary Commission to control the implementation of the national SDGs for the period up to 2030.


At this event, it was also noted that it is necessary to adapt the list of SDG indicators to the global system and develop metadata taking into account the recommendations of the UN system, as well as determine the mechanism for generating indicators that are not currently formed at the national level, and regularly publish data on SDG indicators on official website and statistical collections.



As a result of joint cooperation between UNICEF and the State Committee on Statistics, as well as interested ministries and departments, the first statistical compilation will be prepared, which contains a number of statistical indicators related to children.
These meetings will last until August 5 this year.
