The meeting was attended by representatives of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as experts working in the field of migration in our country and foreign countries.

The main goal of this two-day event is to familiarize yourself with existing international experience in compiling and analyzing statistical data related to migration, including methodologies developed by the ILC.

During the event, the head of the department of demography and labor statistics of the Statistics Agency, Zoir Yuldashev, made a presentation on the topic “Statistical data on migration in the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

In addition, Vivian Van der Vorst, senior regional project manager at the MXT Global Data Institute, and Jasur Saidov, coordinator of the MXT project in Uzbekistan, spoke about working with migration statistics, current practice and plans for the future.

The participants exchanged views on existing practices and approaches in this area in the countries of Central Asia, the popularization of best practices, and the development of international cooperation in the collection and analysis of statistical data related to migration.
