As previously reported, the delegation of the Korean Statistics Office “Statistics Korea” is on a practical visit to Uzbekistan to further expand cooperation and exchange experience on bilateral issues in the field of statistics.
The main purpose of the visit is a preliminary discussion of the “Project to Strengthen the Statistical Capacity of the Statistics Agency”, funded on the basis of grant assistance under the Official Development Assistance (ODA) of the Republic of Korea.
The project is aimed at developing the potential of human resources of the statistics system, creating an e-learning system and conducting consultations on the training of statisticians, creating a system for maintaining statistical databases: creating a statistical data collection system, creating an integrated administrative data management system, creating a statistics quality management system.
The project is carried out at the expense of grant funds from the Korean side in the period 2025-2028.
The delegation of the Korean Statistics Department “Statistics Korea” visited the Institute for Advanced Studies and Statistical Research of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Here, members of the delegation and the management of the institute exchanged views on issues of retraining specialists and increasing the potential of personnel.
On November 16, a delegation from Statistics Korea took part in the final meeting with the leadership of the Statistics Agency and summed up the results of the mission.
