On November 14-16, 2023, the International Labor Organization and Statistics Korea organized the 9th Seminar on Statistics of International Labor Migration in Daejeon (South Korea) Asia-Pacific Region at the Statistical Training Institute.


This seminar was attended by experts from national statistical offices of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Georgia, India, Mongolia, Nepal, Samoa, Turkey, Tajikistan, Fiji, Sri Lanka, South Korea and organizations, as well as experts from the International Labor Migration Statistics of the ILO , managers and specialists of KOSTAT.


The seminar was also attended by Sardor Meliboev, Deputy Head of the Department for the Formation of Aggregate Analytical Information on Demography, Labor and Gender Statistics, from the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the event, participants were informed about the latest changes in international labor migration statistics.

There was also an exchange of views on the main points of the 21st International Conference on Labor Statistics, and became familiar with the periods of ILO data collection for international labor migration statistics for 2022 and 2023.

During various seminars, participants studied the best practices of foreign countries.
