An expert meeting on measuring poverty and income inequality under the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as a workshop on the harmonization of poverty statistics, took place from 27 to 29 November 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The event was organized by the UN Economic Commission for Europe.
It was attended by specialists from statistical departments of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, Brazil, Georgia, Canada, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Poland, Switzerland, the USA, France, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and a number of other countries.

The event was also attended by the head of the department of statistics of living standards and population surveys of the Statistics Agency, Umid Madaminov.
The main goal of this event was to exchange experiences on measuring poverty and inequality and harmonize poverty statistics within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Also during the event, international organizations presented a number of proposals and recommendations.
