On January 18 of this year, an event on maintaining gender statistics was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by employees of the Statistics Agency, as well as representatives of relevant ministries and departments.

At the meeting, Deputy Director of the Statistics Agency Zakhidjon Ziyaev emphasized that in recent years, large-scale work has been carried out in the country to ensure gender equality, achieve equal rights and opportunities for women and men, social and legal support for women, as well as maintaining gender statistics.

In the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality, Senator Marufova Gulnara Makhmudovna, who is constantly working, gave an idea of the role of statistics in ensuring gender equality, the results achieved and the tasks that need to be accomplished using practical examples.

During the event, the parties also exchanged views on the state of formation and presentation of “Target indicators of the strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” in pursuance of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 7, 2019 No. UP-4235 “On measures to further strengthen labor guarantees” women's rights and support for entrepreneurship" and resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 28, 2021 No. PS-297-IV.

After this, Deputy Head of the Department of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Abraev made a presentation about the website on gender statistics gender.stat.uz, the data posted on it, their role in the formation of rating indicators of our country and the tasks of improving the system of indicators on gender statistics .

Specialists from the Statistics Agency also answered the questions of the participants in detail.

At the end of the event, we agreed to work together to further improve the collection, generation and publication of data on gender statistics.
