An expert meeting on child statistics, including the annual TransMONEE session, is taking place in Geneva (Switzerland) from March 3-6 this year.
The meeting is attended by experts from national statistical services, ministries and departments of 36 countries, as well as experts from international organizations. The meeting was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF.

The head of the Department of Statistics of the Social sphere and Sustainable Development of Kirghizov Dilshodbek Erkinbayevich and Deputy head of the Department for the formation of consolidated analytical information on statistics of sustainable development and social sectors Olga Vladimirovna Aleshunina are taking part from the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The main objective of the meeting is to expand the coverage, quality, disaggregation, accessibility and use of data on children in Europe and Central Asia. The event addresses issues related to children in alternative care, violence against children, as well as the comparability of data on children with disabilities.
The meeting will provide a platform to support countries in implementing the Guidelines on Child Statistics, implementing the recommendations of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
