On March 19 of this year, a meeting was organized at the Statistics Agency in order to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks set out in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 4, 2024 No. PP-114 "On measures to organize the activities of the statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan", Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 7, 2024 No. PP-62 "On measures to radically improve the personnel training system for sectors of the economy."
It was attended by the Agency's staff headed by the Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Begalov Bahadir Abdusalomovich, Rector of Tashkent State University of Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Teshaboev Tulkin Zakirovich.
At the meeting, the Director of the Statistics Agency spoke about the policy of openness in the field of national statistics, about the ongoing work to ensure the reliability and transparency of statistical information, as well as about the Agency's activities.
It was also noted that in fulfillment of the tasks set by the head of state at the meeting on June 1, 2020 on measures to improve the field of national statistics, a "Memorandum" was signed between the Agency and the University in order to ensure the fulfillment of certain tasks for the development of the statistical system, capacity building of specialists in this field.
Of particular importance is the fact that currently the Tashkent State University of Economics has a "Scientific and practical Laboratory of Statistics", the main purpose of which is to increase the scientific potential of personnel in the field of statistics. The creation of such scientific and practical opportunities for students creates the basis for the further development of potential personnel for statistical agencies and the expansion of the ranks of research scientists who make a worthy contribution to the development of our country.
At the meeting, the rector of Tashkent State University of Economics informed about the contents of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 7, 2024 No. PP-62 "On measures to radically improve the personnel training system for economic sectors", as well as about the activities of the university.
The necessity of implementing innovative cooperation between education, science and production, as well as the further development of an effective organization of the practice of scientific applicants, undergraduate and graduate students in the Agency of Statistics is emphasized.
Within the framework of the signed memorandum on bilateral cooperation, an agreement was reached on high-quality assurance of the tasks set and other promising proposals and mechanisms for their implementation. In particular, the issues of attracting experts from international financial and economic organizations cooperating with the Statistics Agency and qualified specialists of the Agency to the educational processes, ensuring integration between education and practice, were discussed separately, and instructions were given to the relevant responsible persons.
The Director of the Statistics Agency told the guests from Tashkent State University of Economics in detail about the "Museum of Statistics" created in the Agency.
