On March 11-15 of this year, meetings were held with experts of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCATO) at the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Under the leadership of the deputy director of the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziyaev Zokhidjon Muratovich, the employees of the central apparatus and ESCATO experts - Richard Tonkin, Eric Diben and Sergey Gusev - took part in the events.

These events were organized within the framework of the project "Strengthening the capacity of national statistical offices of the Asia-Pacific region to use new, innovative and large-scale data sources".
A meeting was organized in the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the experts of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCATO) in the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic of "Prospects for the improvement and digitalization of price statistics data".

At the meeting, the experts got acquainted with the experience of using web-scraping, scan-data, introduced to collect price data in the Republic of Uzbekistan. In addition, at the meeting with representatives of the Tax Committee, discussions were held on the information received through the tax integration channel. Also, the experts introduced the best practices of developed countries and gave their instructions on improving the data of price statistics.

During the events, the participants of the meeting will be introduced to the monitoring of agricultural and forestry lands using Geoinformation Systems (GIS) data, as well as remote sensing of the earth, and the rates obtained through aerospace images, which are effective in agricultural and ecological statistics. a presentation on the current state of use in our republic and the experiences of advanced countries of the world in this direction was shown.

At the same time, the officials of the Cadastre Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Space Research and Technologies Agency under the Ministry of Digital Technologies, who were invited to the event, provided information about the system and the wide-scale reforms being implemented in the field.
