On April 15 of this year, a seminar was organized on the topic “Our main goal is to transform the statistical system into an area free of corruption” with the participation of Botir Melikmurotov, head of the internal anti-corruption control service of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as employees of the Statistics Department of the Kashkadarya region.
Speaking at the event, Botyr Melikmurotov explained the content of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 3, 2017 No. UP-419 “On Combating Corruption,” as well as the content of a number of decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, issued to ensure the implementation of this law in society.
Also at the seminar, in order to effectively prevent and combat corruption in statistical bodies, the requirements of orders of the Director of the Statistics Agency No. 127, No. 2, No. 37, No. 74 and No. 33 were brought to the attention of employees.
In particular, in transforming the field of statistics into a corruption-free system, cooperation between the Statistics Agency and regional statistical offices plays an important role in developing uncompromising skills among employees regarding corrupt practices.
At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Combating Corruption”, as well as the creation of a republican interdepartmental commission on combating corruption and the adoption of state programs to combat corruption contribute to increasing the effectiveness of a number of measures aimed at preventing corruption offenses in our country.
