On April 16 of this year, at the InterContinental Tashkent hotel, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Women and Gender Equality and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, held an international seminar on improving open gender information towards inclusive management and acceptance solutions in Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Women and Gender Equality, the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, international organizations, the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of line ministries and departments, as well as experts from a number of organizations.


The purpose of the meeting is to promote knowledge exchange through the exchange of best practices in international and national contexts to improve the collection, analysis and dissemination of gender information, aimed at increasing the awareness of national stakeholders in Uzbekistan on the importance of open gender information in the development of inclusive governance, equitable development and information policies.

At the same time, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 7, 2019 No. PP-4235 “Gender.stat.uz” a list of minimum gender indicators and other information that should be posted on the website of the Oliy Majlis, and it was especially noted that By resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis dated May 28, 2021 No. PS-297-IV, 61 target indicators of the strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030 were approved.
