On April 16 of this year, a meeting was held in the building of the Statistics Agency with Jamison Henninger, an expert on international ratings for open data Open Data Inventory (ODIN) and Gender Data Compass, an international organization of Open Data Watch.
The event was organized with the support of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan. The event was attended by employees of the Department for Monitoring and Coordinating the Activities of the Open Data portal, Department of Demography, Labor and Gender Statistics and relevant departments.
During the event, topics such as further development of the field of open data in our country, improvement of the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in ODIN and other ratings and indexes evaluating the quality of open data, bringing the quality of gender information in our country to a new level, increasing the number of open datasets and study of international practice on creating the possibility of placing geospatial data on the Open Data Portal.
At the end of the seminar, a representative of the Open Data Watch organization, the leading international open data ratings Open Data Inventory (ODIN) and Gender Data Compass, made suggestions and recommendations on the development of the open data ecosystem in our country, improving the quality of gender data and achieving better results in these areas by Uzbekistan.
