From October 2-4 this year, the II International Statistics Forum of the CIS will be held at the InterContinental Trilliant hotel in Tashkent, in cooperation with the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee.

The forum is expected to attract over 150 participants, including the leadership of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Director of the United Nations Statistics Division, the Director of the Statistics Division of the UNECE, as well as the heads of statistical agencies from around 20 foreign countries and experts from other international organizations.
The main objective of the forum is to exchange advanced international experience in the widespread use of digital technologies in the field of statistics. Key topics include modernizing statistical processes in the context of digital transformation, exploring alternative data sources for the production of official statistics, and the extensive use of big data and artificial intelligence.
In addition to the discussions on the agenda, the forum will also host the 70th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of CIS Member States, along with meetings between heads of statistical offices, the CIS Statistical Committee, and experts from other international organizations.
It should be noted that this forum is being held within the framework of the "Development of Statistics in the CIS" program, approved by the CIS Executive Committee. The first International Statistics Forum was held on September 12-14, 2023, in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
