In the context of the Collaborative Work on Administrative Data (CAD), a multilateral collaboration aimed at strengthening the capacity of countries to use administrative data sources for statistical purposes, consultations between specialists of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) were held on 30 October.
The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize with the practice of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in compiling and maintaining metadata for official producers of statistics and consultations for the development of a practical guide on metadata for official producers of statistics.
Dilshod Zakirov, Head of the Department for Organization and Methodology of Statistical Works, Akrom Sultanov, Head of the Department for Monitoring and Coordination of the Open Data Portal, Ulugbek Noipov, Deputy Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Information Exchange, demonstrated the capabilities of the official website "https://stat.uz, the Integrated Information System STATISTICS https://siat.stat.uz/, the Open Data Portal and the IMF National Summary Data Page r-GDDS.
Earlier, the United Nations Statistics Division held consultations with the national statistical services of Bhutan, Chile, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, Ghana and Sweden to develop potential and priority interests/needs that may be, from the countries' point of view, most relevant and useful in developing this guide.
The parties agreed to continue joint consultations and cooperation on topical issues of official statistics.
