On November 27-29, 2024, a "Seminar on the harmonization of Poverty Statistics" and an "Expert group Meeting on measuring poverty and inequality" were held in Geneva, Switzerland, within the framework of the adopted Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The meeting was attended by specialists from statistical agencies and experts from other international organizations from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands (Kingdom), Poland, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the Russian Federation, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Ukraine, the United States of America.
The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Department of Statistics on the standard of living of the Population of the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan Urazbayev Rakhmatjon Otazhanovich.
The main purpose of this international event was the development of methodological work on measuring poverty and inequality within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the exchange of experience on the harmonization of poverty statistics.
In addition, during this meeting, experts from international organizations made a number of suggestions and recommendations within the framework of the event.
