On February 20 of this year, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with UNFPA Resident Representative in the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss further cooperation.
The event was attended by employees of the Central Office, headed by Deputy Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziyaev Zohijon Muratovich and the head of the UN Population Fund office in the Republic of Uzbekistan Nigina Abazdaze.
The meeting addressed issues related to supporting the population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan, providing assistance in developing a demographic sustainability strategy, and strengthening national statistical systems.
The participants of the meeting also agreed to strengthen and expand further cooperation in preparing for the population census and other relevant areas of collaboration.
