On September 18, 2020, an expert consultation was held online to discuss the issue of preparing an investment justification for the need to reform the child benefit system in Uzbekistan as part of the implementation of the Joint two-year work plan for 2019-2020 signed between the Ministry of Finance and UNICEF.
The event was attended by Zhakhongir Kambarov, head Of the Department for generating consolidated analytical information on statistics of sustainable development and social sectors, and Rakhmatjon Urozbayev, head of the Department of accumulation and auxiliary accounts. Representatives of the relevant ministries and departments of the Republic were also present.
In this expert consultation, Nodir Muslitdinov, head of the Main Department of social sphere and science financing of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, made a welcoming speech,acting Head of the social policy Department of the UNICEF representative Office in Uzbekistan – Umid Aliyev, and an international expert-Jonathan Carter made a presentation on the topic: “Draft cost analysis of proposed scenarios for the reform of child benefits in Uzbekistan".
Responsible officials from ministries and departments provided constructive comments and recommendations for improving the presented methodology for data analysis and collection.
