A webinar on legislation, statistics and e-waste management was held in the framework of the project "Regional monitoring of e-waste in the CIS countries" on November 2-3, 2020.
The webinar from the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics was attended by chief specialist of the Department of statistics of agriculture and ecology Dehkanova Nigora.
The event was attended by representatives of statistical services and environmental organizations of the CIS countries, experts from the United Nations University, the United Nations environment Programme, the German Federal environment Agency, and the International telecommunication Union.
In the webinar, participants exchanged views on the issue of collecting reliable data in the field of legislation and e-waste management.
Information is also provided to assist participants on the analysis of statistical information for calculating the volume of new electronic and electrical equipment on the market and the volume of produced electronic waste.
Based on the results of the webinar, participants determined further work on improving e-waste statistics.
