On November 17 this year, meetings were held to discuss bills organized by the factions of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.


At enlarged meetings of the factions of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat”, the report of the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Kholmurodov Dilshod Ibrahimovich on the foundations of the development of the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Official Statistics” was heard and approved in the first reading.

For reference, when developing the draft law, it was based on the “Model Law on Official Statistics” for the countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, developed by the UN Economic Commission for Europe and recommended for implementation at the international level in 2016.

In the development of the project, in addition to the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Committee on Statistics, relevant specialists from 10 ministries and departments are involved. Foreign experts from the World Bank also took part in it.

When developing the draft law “On Official Statistics”, the legislation of the CIS countries, Asia and Europe, as well as the law enforcement practice of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other states in the field of official statistics were studied.
