In the cooperation plan signed by the Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan on gender equality and representatives of international organizations in the country, it is planned to hold the action "16 days of active action against violence" from November 25 to December 10, 2020.
On November 26 this year, the campaign was launched under the slogan "Color the world orange: saving, responding, preventing, collecting".
The event, which was held in the form of an online video conference, was attended by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Commission on gender equality, Tanzila narbayeva, the UN Resident coordinator in Uzbekistan, Helena Fraser, international experts on gender equality, as well as representatives of various ministries and departments of the country.
Employees OF the Department of statistics of the social sphere and sustainable development took part from the State Committee on Statistics.
During the videoconference, participants exchanged views on the work being done in the world on gender equality, problems and shortcomings, best practices, and measures taken to ensure gender equality in the country.
At the events, which will last until December 10, experts will study existing problems in the field of gender equality and develop measures to eliminate shortcomings.
