At a meeting on measures to improve national statistics chaired by the head of state on June 1 this year, the issue of human resources was raised, and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists of the statistical system.
On the basis of a specific plan established by Goskomstat, a systematic training program for the staff of the central office of the committee and regional statistical offices was developed and approved.
Based on this schedule, online seminars were organized in June-July this year to improve the qualifications of the system's employees and further enhance their knowledge and capabilities in this area.
The next video conference, organized on December 23, 2020 by the Office of Macroeconomic Indicators and National Accounts, was a logical continuation of the capacity building of the system.
The videoconference was attended by employees of the State Committee on Statistics and representatives of territorial departments of statistics.
Deputy head of the Department of macroeconomic indicators and national accounts Mamadzhanov Abrorali Ashiralievich presented his proposals on the work that should be carried out in order to ensure the implementation of relevant regulatory acts.
At the event, an exchange of views took place on the implementation of the national strategy for the development of statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025 into practice, as well as issues of providing users with statistical data at a high level.
There was also a webinar in the form of questions and answers related to the field of SNA. Answering the questions, the staff of regional statistical offices separately focused on the calculation of gross domestic (regional) product, growth rates and deflator.
At the end of the webinar, achievements and shortcomings in this area are discussed, as well as suggestions and recommendations for increasing productivity in the process.
Videoconferences of this practical importance are systematically organized by other departments of the State Committee on Statistics.
